A Session Initiation Protocol Uniform Resource Locator (SIP URL) is a unique identifier used to address a specific endpoint, such as a phone, video conferencing system, or other SIP-enabled device, on the internet.
SIP URLs are similar to email addresses in that they specify the location of a particular resource. However, SIP URLs are specifically designed for use with SIP, a protocol used for initiating and managing multimedia sessions, such as voice and video calls. SIP URLs are composed of three parts: the scheme, the user, and the host.
